Enter a user-defined name or alias for a PTC license-to-run or leave the field blank. You can assign a user-defined name here or during reconfiguration.
The default name for any PTC license-to-run is its feature name. Assigning a user-defined name does not change the feature name. The alias provides a secondary name to help you identify the software. For example, a user-defined name is helpful when you run the ptcstatus command. Ptcstatus command output includes the number of available licenses and any restrictions.
A user-defined name can be 30 alphanumeric characters, including underscores. No special characters are allowed.
Note: Because the alias is used only by PTC software, the user-defined name cannot be used by FLEXlm utilities such as FLEXadmin.
